Somatic Therapy
Somatic therapy effectively helps us connect with our bodies. Many of us are often trapped in our minds, ignoring the intelligence flowing through our entire nervous system. We store tension, trauma, and adversity in our bodies and need to find a place to release these elements to create actual physical and psychological bandwidth within us. I work alongside you to gently notice patterns and habits that are not serving your purpose. We explore them with a somatic frame by building up a sensory vocabulary which describes your lived experience.
I then collaborate with you using a blend of talk therapy and somatic experiencing methods to build your awareness and welcome charged physiological sensations associated with ways of being that no longer serve you. I will support you in resourcing yourself with scientifically proven somatic methods that will enhance your ability to deactivate trauma and nervous system tension.
Building the somatic frame and path together will take time. Everybody has varying degrees of readiness for this work. Wherever you are, I want to cocreate trust and safety with you, and you have my word that throughout this process I will provide firm but gentle and compassionate support as you actively participate in creating the life that is meant for you.
